On Thursday of last week, Years 4 and 5 were given the opportunity to take part in an ‘Enabling Enterprise’ workshop. This event was called ‘Project Moonbase’, allowing the children to create a new world for a civilisation to thrive. They had to complete a number of challenges, such as deciding on a crew to help them on their journey, a new species of animal that would be introduced and finally, designing the city where people would live. All of these challenges were completed in groups of 5, allowing the children to demonstrate key skills such as problem solving, using imagination and staying positive. At the end of the event, Years 4 and 5 presented their new moonbase to pupils from Year 6, who had to choose a winning project – a task which proved rather tricky as all groups had developed a stunning presentation thanks to their hard work! All the children had a superb day, learning how to work effectively as part of a team, whilst doing something creative. We look forward to our next workshop from Enabling Enterprise!
