Year 4 began the week by travelling back in time! Roman children arrived in their togas for school, ready to take part in their Roman activities. They began their day learning Latin, thinking of their Roman name and then writing it on a name plaque. We then moved on to creating our own mosaics. In the afternoon they designed and decorated their own shields in preparation for formation practice as part of the Roman legionary army! To finish off the day, we ate a Roman feast of bread dipped in honey, grapes and apples (we decided against the flamingo brains and dormice dipped in honey!) We are very impressed with our Roman classes and we all had a lovely day!
