Year 4 began the week by travelling back in time! Roman children arrived in their togas for school, ready to take part in their Roman activities. We began our day learning about Roman foods and creating a menu for a Roman feast. We then moved onto creating our own mosaics. In the afternoon we designed and decorated our own shields in preparation for formation practice as part of the Roman legionary army! To finish off the day, we ate a Roman feast of bread dipped in honey, grapes and apples (we decided against the flamingo brains and dormice dipped filled with pine nuts!) We were very impressed with our Roman classes and we all had a lovely day!
