Dear parents,
I am writing to update you of some changes that we will be making to our Covid-19 arrangements.
Firstly, thank you once again for your support regarding our protocols, it has been very much appreciated and has definitely helped ensure that we have managed to keep school as normal as possible over the last few months!
Masks
Masks no longer need to be worn when coming into the playground at drop off or pick up. If parents come into the school building such as the office, they will need to wear a mask and when in communal areas such as the stairs and halls for events such as Parents’ Evening.
Leaving the playground
We have been operating a one way system as part of our Risk Assessment with parents entering though Lancell Street / Dynevor road and leaving through the Daycare gate or the Church street gate.
Families can now leave through the Daycare gate, Church Street gate or the Dynevor road gate.
Families cannot leave through the Lancell Street gate, as this is where the Year 5 and 6 classes leave at the end of the day. Teachers need to be able to dismiss their children safely and without other adults and children walking through the lines.
Positive Covid-19 tests
From Thursday 24 February, the Government will remove the legal requirement to self-isolate following a positive test. Adults and children who test positive will continue to be advised to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for at least 5 full days, and then continue to follow the guidance until they have received 2 negative test results on consecutive days.
We continue to have very high levels of staff absence. The absence numbers for children are also high. We are advising our families to follow this guidance to minimise the risk to other members of the school community. We would ask that you keep school informed as to any positive Covid-19 cases within the household too.
From the 1st April, the Government will update guidance setting out the ongoing steps that people with COVID-19 should take to minimise contact with other people. This will align with the changes to testing.
We will be continuing with our cleaning, hand sanitising and ventilation regime. Thankfully it is getting warmer, but children might want to bring in a spare jumper or T shirt to put on in the classroom, if the weather turns chilly.
Once again many thanks for your continued support.
Best wishes
Karen
