We offer part time and full time nursery places

Our nursery offers 15 hours of part-time childcare, as a free entitlement for all three- and four-year olds. Children attend for 3 hours per day; either in the morning from 9.00am until 12.00pm or in the afternoon from 12.30pm until 3.30pm.

As part of the Government’s Childcare Bill, we also offer a total of 30 hours of childcare to eligible children (15 hours as a free entitlement and then an additional 15 hours for working families.) Eligibility has been defined by the DfE as follows:

The additional 15 hours of free childcare will be available for families where both parents are working (or the sole parent is working in a lone-parent family), and each parent earns the equivalent of 16 hours a week, at the national minimum or living wage, and earns less than £100,000 a year.

Parents need to complete an on-line eligibility check if they are going to apply for this additional funding. Parents need to include the eligibility code on their nursery application form. Please see www.gov.uk/get-tax-free-childcare for further information about qualifying and applying for 30 hours of free childcare.

Attendance at our Nursery does not automatically make a child eligible for acceptance into our school. Applications for a place in Reception are processed by Hackney Education and the admissions criteria that they apply are published on their website. The school has no influence or discretion in the application process or the allocation of Reception places.

Prospective parents

We hold visits for prospective parents to meet the Headteacher and tour the school in person. Please contact the school office to book an appointment. We are also happy to share our school’s film below. We hope that this provides an insight into the ethos of William Patten, as well as the opportunities we offer as part of our rich and diverse curriculum and the facilities that are available to enhance teaching and learning and wellbeing. The slides in the link below the film provide further details about the admissions process and how we organise the school day.
