Knowledge and Vocabulary

To see what the key knowledge and vocabulary your child will be learning this term, please see our Topic Vocabulary Mats.  These provide simple visuals which enable all children to gain an understanding of the meaning of topic specific vocabulary, in addition to the more detailed definitions.  The key knowledge for each subject topic is also listed, as well as useful links that you can use to support learning at home.  At William Patten, we are committed to ensuring that all children develop a rich and sophisticated vocabulary.  We believe that this, combined with a considerable knowledge base across all subject areas, will provide the cultural capital that will enable children to be successful in the next phase of their education and later on in life.

The Early Years Curriculum
