Stone Age to Bronze Age
Year 3 have been fantastic historians learning all about life in the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Ages. Along with fact finding research, both classes created fantastic cave drawings and their own artefacts out of salt dough - animal bone jewellery, arrow heads and small pots. Not forgetting the cross-curricular link with our English text ‘The Stone Age Boy’ and the wonderful writing they have produced. They rounded off their History topic with a trip to the British Museum. The classes were wonderfully behaved on the journey and were excellent role models while exploring the museum. Using an activity booklet the classes completed a treasure hunt to locate particular Stone Age, Iron Age and Bronze Age artefacts; drew patterns they saw on stone and metal objects; found and wrote facts about Bronze age jewellery and even saw the types of objects they had made out of salt dough!
