Dear parents,
Ramadan is expected to start on Saturday April 2nd , so I would like to wish you Ramadan Mubarak and send my warmest wishes to you and your family during this special time.

We are aware that some of the older William Patten children may wish to fast on some days during Ramadan. If your child is planning to fast, please can you inform us in advance and also let us know if you are happy for them to break fasting if they wish to.

Eid this year falls in the week beginning 1st / 2nd May. In 2019, we had the first ever William Patten Eid Party and I said at the time that we had started a new tradition! Unfortunately with the pandemic, we were not able to celebrate with you in 2020 or 2021.
But as life gradually returns to normal and restrictions have been lifted, we would like to celebrate together with our families at a special William Patten Eid Party on Thursday 5th May.

We are asking our families who celebrate Eid to donate food that they have as part of their family celebrations. Ali will also be making food to share as will other staff in the school. The food can be sweet or savoury, but it must all be vegetarian and nut free.
* The children can wear their special Eid clothes if they would like to on the day.
* Families bring food in the morning, we will put it out in the hall and all classes will be timetabled throughout the day to visit and sample some of the delicious dishes.
* We will be having a special Eid assembly for EYFS / KS1 and KS2 and each class will be having a lesson to find out more about the importance of Ramadan and Eid to Muslims around the world.

We would very much like parents to join us on the day, please email admin@williampatten.hackney.sch.uk if you can help out with bringing food or serving at the Eid party.

We look forward to sharing the celebration of Eid with all the William Patten community.

Many thanks indeed

Best wishes

Karen
