Dear parents,

I am writing to clarify the arrangements for the new start and finish times in January.

We will be changing our times from January 2023, so that all children start school at 9am and finish at 3.30pm.

The morning Nursery session will be from 9am – 12pm and the afternoon Nursery session will be from 12.30pm – 3.30pm.

Start of day

We will open the gates just before 8.55am, as we continue with the soft start. All children will need to be in school by 9am and ready for the register. Children arriving after 9.05am will be recorded as late.

Children can come into the playground via Dynevor Road or Lancell street.

Nursery and Reception parents can continue to come on to the site to drop their child off, but all other parents are expected to say goodbye at the gate and the children come in on their own.

End of day

We will bring the Year 1 – 6 classes down to the playground and they will wait in their allocated spaces.

Year 1 In the large playground, by the houses
Year 2 On the Astroturf in the large playground
Year 3 On the Astroturf in the large playground
Year 4 In the small playground:

4C by the waves and 4M on the steps

Year 5 In the small playground on the football pitch
Year 6 In the small playground by the climbing frame

When all classes are ready, we will open the gates at 3.30pm.

Year 5 parents will now come into the playground to collect their children. We would ask that you wait at the football pitch but be mindful of not blocking the gate.

Once they have collected their children, we would be grateful if parents could leave the playground quickly, so that Fit For Sport can use the playground.

We hope the new arrangements will support parents, as they will no longer have to wait around for 10 minutes if siblings are in different keystages, this will be very helpful particularly in the colder weather!

If you have any questions, please get in touch.

Best wishes

Karen
